Perhaps some of you have already heard the announcement few weeks back that SAP has acquired Appgyver - a Low code / No Code platform that enables power users to build apps quickly. In this blog series I would like to highlight some of the features of Appgyver and give you my first hand experience with the platform.
About Appgyver
Appgyver started its journey in 2013 on the low code app development space. However they have really marked some difference with their Composer Pro platform launched around a year ago.
This tool is a nice one which enables you to build mobile and web apps quickly based on WISWIG layout editor.
Low Code Battle
As per Gartner reports, Low Code Application Platform market is to grow by 23% in 2021. Already there are quite a few strong players. SAP has already having strategic alliance to the market leader Mendix.

However, compared to Salesforce or Microsoft or ServiceNow, SAP until recent time did not own a LCAP on its own. SAP's response to this has been SAP Business Application Studio - which is a very powerful tool but still looks more Pro-code than a simplified Low code environment. Though SAP MDK make out strong with its mobile and web offerings, it works well in Fiori design boundary. This strategy may have worked well for corporate apps but when we talk about popularizing consumer grade apps, I feel MDK has its own limitations. This is the exact space where Appgyver can fit it. So in a sense acquiring Appgyver seems to be a smart move.
When I jumped on to their website (https://www.appgyver.com/) the first thing catches my eye is their tag line - ' You will never go back to coding. Seriously.'
