Today, SAP and Google Cloud are proud to announce the winners of the Intelligent App Challenge (IAC).

But first, let’s reflect...

Here at SAP, we’re excited about our new partnership with Google Cloud announced in March. So, we jumped at the idea of a challenge to highlight the value of our technologies working together to create benefits for our customers and partners. We knew that our partners wanted cloud freedom and could take the technologies to the next level and do incredible things. Little did we know the degree...

Registrations rolled in as soon as we opened the contest on June 5. By the August deadline, we had received hundreds of registrations. Two months! That’s how long we gave the Intelligent App Challenge participants to build an application.

Though the written rules for the contest were simple and straightforward (build an app with SAP HANA, express edition, on the Google Cloud Platform), the applications we saw were ripe with creativity and sophistication. They also used a wide range of other SAP, Google, and other technologies, like:

Ultimately, the competition was incredibly fierce, and our standards high. The entire Intelligent App Challenge team is very proud of what our winners and finalists built. I’m especially pleased to announce that VASPP Technologies (1st) and BOHH Labs (2nd) created the best examples of the power of these technologies.

  • VASPP created an app for easy charting of diverse SAP sourced data for business analytics. The app uses machine learning to recommend KPIs for measurement.

  • BOHH Labs created an app that secures data in transit to avoid breaches and increase compliance. It is designed to increase user productivity through natural language speech-to-text and text-to-command inputs

Congratulations also go to our other finalists: Infosys, Mexbalia, and SmartDocs Inc. You can see videos of all their demos on the Intelligent App Challenge Youtube channel.

Winners receive a publicity package plus $20,000 worth of credit each from Google Cloud. Finalists receive $2500 each in Google Cloud credit.

If you’re at SAP TechEd September 26 29, I invite you to meet the teams of VASPP and BOHH yourself at the following activities:
