Roughly two weeks ago, I was at SAP TechEd Las Vegas. While this was just another TechEd for the most, the timing of it was very special for me as well as all my colleagues in SAP NetWeaver Gateway Product Management. Why? Because, October 15th 2012 was marking the first anniversary of our baby SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 (the standalone version).

In this series of blog posts, I will try to share with you the progress we had with SAP NetWeaver Gateway in the SAP Partner Ecosystem in just one year. In fact, most of the things I will share had been achieved in less than a year!

At the beginning of 2012 as we set the goals for the year, we wanted to achieve two things;

  • Establish a pool of consultants in the SAP Partner Ecosystem who are trained on SAP NetWeaver Gateway
  • Increase the number of commercially available partner solutions built on SAP NetWeaver Gateway

Furthermore, we have decided to use SAP NetWeaver Gateway Solution Certification as a means to track our progress.

In order to streamline our efforts and to reach to a larger partner audience, we have concentrated our efforts around a campaign - Partner Built Solutions Drive that we have been running globally since Q2 2012. The campaign involved various efforts starting from recruitment of partners, training, support, certification and providing go-to-market benefits.

As a result, in the first birthday of SAP NetWeaver Gateway we had 20+ solutions built by partners successfully on SAP NetWeaver Gateway and certified by SAP. You can see a list of these solutions already on SAP Partner Information Center.

Next week, I will provide more details  about the partner companies, and their solutions built on SAP NetWeaver Gateway.

Ohh No! I hear some spooky voices outside my room... Apparently, it is time to take my daughter to trick or treating! Happy Halloween everyone.

Till next week...

Best,

Mustafa.
