During these challenging times, the SUSE open source community has been strengthened by their virtual network on global scale. The community has continued to accelerate innovation without disruption in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
Within the community, the overall feedback from many customers is that they face a common challenge: simplifying their IT environments by connecting a wide variety of apps, data, and technology. Here are 4 ways SAP & SUSE are helping customers overcome this challenge:
How One Awards Program is Continuing to Drive Innovation
Perhaps the greatest compliment is when customers share their stories about using SAP and SUSE technologies to simplify mission-critical systems and applications.
Recently, an outstanding group of them participated in the
SAP Innovation Awards 2020, which is the preeminent SAP recognition program to showcase brilliant and compelling examples of innovation that are spotlighted in an
impactful eBook.
SAP is thrilled to showcase customers who choose SUSE for their intelligent enterprises journey.
Human Resource Digitization to Create a Best In Class User Experience
Mahindra & Mahindra is a multinational vehicle manufacturing corporation and part of the Mahindra Group. They struggled due to a lack of one single platform for employees’ daily operation requirements. The multiple application platforms were causing operational inefficiencies, high turnaround time for routine employee queries, inconsistent and inaccurate information, and poor customer experience leading to delays, frustration, and loss of productivity.
Mahindra & Mahindra implemented SAP and SUSE for claims management, policy storage, time management, leave management and payroll to address these challenges. An inhouse chatbot, “Genie,” was developed using Artificial Intelligence and is tightly integrated with SAP SuccessFactors.
As a result, the mobile app and web-based solution provided a single view of “truth” and led to a 40% reduction in processing time as well as an 8% cost saving for travel approvals.
How a Multinational Organization is Transforming Business with SAP S/4HANA
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a global edge-to-cloud Platform-as-a-Service company built to transform businesses. This multinational enterprise information technology company was challenged with 10 separate ERP systems, 10 core databases, and complex legacy applications resulting in a roadblock for their own business transformation.
By deploying SAP S/4HANA, HPE launched an internal digital transformation and a Next-Generation IT project to simplify IT tools, processes and applications. The results included reducing the number of touch points in the sales process from 1,000 to just 100 and the number of IT applications by 50% - a game changer for customers, partners, and employees.
How One Business Travel Management Provider is Transforming Into a Digital Enterprise
Lufthansa AirPlus Servicekarten GmbH (AirPlus) is a leading international provider of business travel management solutions with 1,300+ employees and ~50,000 corporate customers. Their solutions support companies from payments through settlement to the analysis of business travel costs.
AirPlus’s legacy non-SAP IT landscape no longer supported new market standards to facilitate growth and digitalization of the business. System adaptations had become too costly and time-consuming, negatively impacting operating margins, business agility, and further international expansion.
In response, AirPlus launched an enterprise-wide digital transformation project to become an intelligent enterprise based on a cloud-based, platform-as-a-service (PaaS) architecture using the SAP Model Company service and implementing SAP S/4HANA for the entire back office. AirPlus achieved the highest possible level of automation and replaced paper-based processes, which resulted in greater efficiency, including 50 – 70% lower IT operating costs.
