As a software solution, SAP has grown and developed a lot since its inception, but one thing that has been a bit lackluster has been its approach to reporting, until now that is. At current, a lot of companies don't have specified data reporting paths or require specific data output from their software suites that are difficult to maintain. Quite a few companies still rely on Excel sheet reporting from a month-to-month basis which isn't just time-consuming, but prone to human error and highly inefficient as a result. By building SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP seeks to address the shortcoming in their software for noting and monitoring critical business metrics that ca be used to improve a company over time.

An Important Choice for SAP Users

SAP has a number of different software out there at the moment that aids in reporting, such as SAP Business Intelligence (BI) and SAP Lumira but these offerings aren't nearly as good as SAP Analytics Cloud for the simple reason that SAP Analytics Cloud is simply far more 'connected' than the other two. There's a wide swathe of SAP software that can be either linked live to the Analytics cloud, have data that is easily accessible to the Analytics Cloud, or imported for processing of linking to that data. This arrangement makes it the easiest solution for companies that need a reporting solution that can reliably access all the SAP software interfaces being employed by the enterprise.

Data at a Glance

In a world where managers and solution finders don't have a minute to spare, having easily readable and understandable metrics is the order of the day. Because of the availability of data, live charts can be generated which can then be used by analysts, allowing them to spend more time analyzing the data and less time compiling it. The result is a far more well-rounded data set. In some cases, data sets that are imported can be tied to other imported data sets to generate new metrics based on common criteria. Additionally, trend prediction is possible with enough historic data to draw on, allowing management to plot the potential future moves of a company. Fast data should be accurate data and because of the way that SAP Analytics Cloud is integrated into other systems, there isn't any worry about the source data being erroneous.

Flexibility and Adaptability

One of the reasons that SAP is adopted by so many businesses around the world is because it provides reliable software but doesn't force a user to use that software how they dictate. This flexibility is also present in SAP Analytics Cloud used by Informeo. Customization is the core of SAP software solutions, and because of this, each business will be looking at their own individual concerns when it comes to analyzing their data and reporting on it. Custom queries form the bread and butter of the SAP Analytics Cloud, allowing for the design of queries on datasets in a number of different ways. At the moment, there are a lot of internal reporting systems that can be used in SAP software suites, but the data that is retrieved from these barebones query tasks requires a lot of setup and intimate understanding of the processes and data sets concerned. Performing these queries and verifying the data sets take time that can be saved simply by employing the SAP Analytics Cloud and filtering for the data that you want it to focus on.

The Long Haul

While there is a lot of functionality on the SAP Analytics Cloud at present, this functionality may be limited since SAP has only just started development of the suite. Over time, features will be added and expanded, and it’s likely that companies will benefit greatly from having a system that integrates SAP Analytics Cloud with their internal reporting. In such a case, metrics can be generated on the fly and there would be no need to manually compile data, cross-reference it and develop reports by hand to get the insights that this data holds. Adoption at an early stage will allow a company's reporting to grow and mature as the SAP Analytics Cloud becomes more and more sophisticated going into the future.
