Trying the Updates on SAP Analysis Office - 2.8

Analysis Office 2.8 was released on Thanksgiving Day, November 28; see Jeanne Bigonnet's blog here. Where possible, I tried them out below.

Analysis – Integration into SAP Analytics Cloud - - now supports access to online SAP BW and SAP HANA sources (live connection)

You need to select "Enable Live Data Connections"

 

Display Grouped Dimensions in Design Panel:

Notice you can view the grouped dimensions by technical names



Highlight used dimensions on the cross tab; so in screen shot above Calendar Year/Month and Sales Organization are highlighted as they are on the crosstab.

Select Access Mode in Property View



Note this is only available if you set AllowChangingAccessMode checkbox on in the Technical Configuration (File > Analysis > Technical Configuration):



 

 

SAP Analytics Cloud Planning feature:

-if a new master data is created in SAP Analytics Cloud , it’s possible to plan on it from Analysis Office

Prompts for Variants:



Variants are now alphabetical

Stricter handling on unsecure connections:



In this release, SAP Analysis Office is attempting to enforce secure connection with a warning as shown above.

Clear Prompts



You can see in lower left part of the screen you can clear all prompts button
