Creation of a Database in the Sybase Control Center for use as a Data Services Repo takes a few more steps than first thought. Hopefully this step-by-step will help people.

 

  1. Create the Database Devices required for the schema


Select Database Devices

Select New from the available menu



Select the server that will be the source for the database



Name the device, the path will be auto populated



Specify the size required for the database. The sequence number will be auto populated with the next available number



Specify the required write options for the database



If required by the server specify the screen mirroring requirements



Check the details are correct and finish



Create a User Database





Select the server required for the database schema



Specify the name of the database schema



Add the device created earlier







Select any additional options required



Select the recovery options



Select the compression options



Select if a guest user is required for the database



 

Check the details and select finish to confirm



Create the required login for the database





Select the required server



 

Specify the required login details



If Login Profiles are being used then specify it



Select the required default database



Confirm any default parameters



Specify the required database for access



Check the summary and select finish to create



The database can now be used
