I couldn't see the Design Studio applications BI Mobile on the iPad.  I could see Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, Explorer and all the rest just fine.

Then, when reading Mastering SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio with SAP NetWeaver BW I realized I neglected to install "Analysis Application Support for Mobile Services".  At the time, back in June, I didn't install it was I was waiting for the Mobile BI 5.0.  Once Mobile BI 5 was released, I forgot to go back and install Analysis Application Support for Mobile Services.

Note you still need to follow the steps listed here to see your Design Studio application on the Mobile BI application -Seeing Design Studio on BI Mobile 4.4 Apps for iOS

You still need to assign the application to a mobile category and the Design Studio application has to be on the BI Platform. 

Then you can launch BI Mobile and start using BI Mobile with your Design Studio application - email, annotate or collaborate.

Finally, as Velma says in Scooby-Doo "mystery solved"!
