Well, I'm back again with my "comprehensive" series on Service Management Configuration.  After going through all of this, even I didn't realize just how many steps there are.  It's funny, when you do this often enough, you kinda forget just daunting of a task it can be.  Anyway, back to the task at hand

Today is another piece of configuration I rarely need to touch, so it's kind of a refresh for me too.  It has to do with Investment Programs and assigning the fields you care about.  So let's get into it...

Here's where you can find this step in configuration if aren't familiar.

Now, here's the nitty gritty of the issue.  You start with the IM Key, with is the first column in this table.  Then you have a list of fields that you can define as relevant or not for automatically determining the correct Investment program.

Fiscal Year

Company Code

Business Area

Controlling Area

Cost Center

Profit Center

Plant Section

Functional Location

Here's a little background for you.

You'll notice that most of the fields are just a simple check box, but there are 3 fields with a pull down.

Cost Center

Functional Location

Since I haven't used Investment programs much, I actually had to do a little homework.  When the system attempts to determine which program to use, it takes these fields into account.  Pretty simple.  If it can't find a unique IM, then it returns now and provides a message.  Pretty straightforward.

That's all for today.
