IPL Cricket Insights

For the 2014 IPL Twenty20 Cricket tournament (won by the SAP HANA powered Kolkata Knight Riders) the SAP HANA Academy composed daily blogs previewing fixtures and analyzing match results using the SAP BI tools, SAP Lumira and SAP Crystal Reports. Ball-by-ball XML files from Opta Sports for each match were loaded in SAP HANA using Data Services. Analytic views were created in SAP HANA Studio to enrich the data. After connecting to those analytic views with SAP Lumira we discovered insights about individual bowlers, batters, and teams by building visualizations and storyboards. SAP Luirma Cloud was used to create dynamic and engaging analytics of historical IPL data.
