Hi,

Within this brief document, I am going to explain in detail how I managed to install HANA Studio with SP08 in my PC and how to solve the JAVA error.

Before starting please bear in mind that these steps may vary depending on the software you have installed previously in your PC and that this document only covers a procedure for a new Installation of SAP HANA Studio. Also, your computer must fulfill with minimum Hw and Sw requirements for SAP HANA.

In my case, the main problem was I had Java ver 7 installed in my PC, and the package that I downloaded from the HANA web site is prepared to run with Java SE 6 because it looks for this specific path C:\Program Files\JAVA\jre6.

If you are already in Java 7 or higher, like me, here is the complete procedure of what what I did:

Step 1. Download the latest version of the SAP HANA Studio from this site https://hanadeveditionsapicl.hana.ondemand.com/hanadevedition/.

1.1 Click on tab HANA Studio

1.2 Scroll down and hit in Accept & Download button.

Step 2. Make sure you have Java 6 Standar Edition in your PC (mine is version 6 update 25). If you are in a newer version like 7 or 8, follow this procedure to downgrade your Java version:

2.1 Uninstall your current Java software

          2.2 Restart your PC

2.3 Get Java 6 SE from this site http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/archive-139210.html

Step 3. Set your System variables PATH and JAVA_HOME

In the following thread, henry.banks has explained it very well: 32Bit VI Java Virtual Machine error

Step 4. Restart your pc (yes, again)

Step 5. Intall your SAP HANA Studio.

          You should be fine now!

Good look!!
