This blog is a submission to the SME SEEDx Development Challenge 2019. We were thinking about an Online Shopping App / Solution that would help the customers to do hassle free online shopping would also save their time in the process. The challenge was announced in the month of June’ 2018 and we took the challenge to build the solution for the SME SEEDx Development Challenge 2019. The solution had been made using SAPUI5, SAP Cloud Platform etc.
Customer Register, Log in and Place Order. Sales Employee/Delivery Boy Deliver Item and Receive the Payment from the Customer
Solution Use Case
Real Customer Use-case:
No facility for Customer to Log in and place Order directly.
Difficulty faced by Delivery person in getting the delivery on time. Current scenario is after order delivery, the Sales person must go back to the office and someone has to enter the payment details and Invoice Details in SAP Business One application. This becomes more time consuming
Persona Identified:
Back Office user(s) for whom enough effort and time is required to do the entries in bulk in SAP Business One application
Pain Points:
No facility for Customer to Log in and place Order directly.
Difficulty faced by Delivery person in getting the delivery. Current scenario is after order delivery, the Sales person must go back to the office and someone has to enter the payment details on the database and Invoice Details on SAP. This becomes more time consuming
Solution Details:
Customer can register or login to Sales APP from register/login screen in the following way:
To register -> Customer needs to fill up the relevant information in the fields shown in the register screen along with a valid Mobile number (which will be treated as Customer Code in SAP).
To login -> Customer needs to put their Customer Code (mobile number) and Password in relevant fields and press ⏎
After login, Customer can select the Item(s) from the Item List and can simply place an order.
When a customer place an order, the SAP user will be able to see it on his Sales Order list.
Now the SAP user will tagging a Sales Employee / Delivery person from Employee Master with the Sales Order.
When the Sales Employee / Delivery person logs into the APP with his Employee Code as User Name, S/he will be able to see a list of open Sales Order(s) assigned to him/her. Accordingly, the Delivery person will post AR Invoice Linked with the Order and Incoming Payment linked with Invoice in SAP (by using the APP) after received payment and will deliver the order.

We need to Enhance it in such a way so that it can be plug and play in any organization who need this kind of solution also we are planning to intrigrate with machine learning to capture order from product image and OCR

The Challenge had made us explore innovative options and serve the customers in a better way. For Example, when the team came up with the Online Shopping idea for the challenge and after creating the mobile APP Online Shopping, the end users were really excited and it was a big success. SEEDx challenge makes us to explore and include innovation as part of our application. We look forward for all our implementation with innovation so that we can submit the challenge for the next year as well.
