Linda Peruzzi lead this second session to “Tell stories using visualizations”, building on movie analysis using a SAP BI Universe to “find hidden trends to tell your story”

Linda reviewed movie box office statistics against a BI universe, merged 2 datasets, using calculated fields, drag and drop visualizations, created an ESRI Map, shared with others and shared on Lumira Server

Towards the end blog, Linda showed this Lumira InfoGraphic which gives you tips on when to use which type of chart:

Figure 3 was shown in the first class, and in the second class, but because the sessions are only 30 minutes there is no time to cover this.  Figure 3 (to me) is more about comparisons.

Figure 4 talks about pie charts.  I've read the WSJ recommendations about pie charts, something which I want to try with Lumira later.  Sometimes the "light bulb" recommends stacked bar charts if you use it in Lumira

Figure 5 (to me) is also about comparisons

Figure 6 shows the bubble charts and the heat map.  The nice thing about Lumira bubble charts is you can animate them.

What I liked about Figures 3-6 is that it makes me take a step back and think about what I am trying to convey.  Often, I try to do what works the fastest.  To me that was the best part of this class.
