How to Hide/Show the Service for Object/Generic Object Service button in any SAP Transaction Code?

Introduction

Every SAP Customer that uses SAP ERP always use the Attachment Functionality/ SAP Workflow Capability. The Service for Object/Generic Object Service is heavily used acoss every Transaction code to check Attachment, Trigger Workflow and check Workflow Log. The blog covers the case where sometimes this button is completely hidden in SAP. You can also play a Prank on someone only for few hours 🙂

 

Solution

Login to SAP. First we go to ME23N Transaction Code.

Please note that the GOS button is missing here. In every Transaction Code you go the GOS(Generic Object Service) Button is missing.

Now we go to Transaction Code SU3

The below Parameter Id is Set. We will delete it and Save it

Now let us go to ME23N transaction Code. Wala the GOS button is back

 

For Sales Order Transaction Code you have to enable a special Parameter id which can be checked here

Conclusion

This can be used in both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA
