Future Of Datawarehouse

Started my SAP BW Journey long back in 2005 and spent almost close to 15+ years in business warehousing so far. Worked on multiple SAP BW versions starting from 3.5,7.0,7.1 and SAP BW on HANA version SAP BW on HANA 7.3,7.4 and latest 7.5 version.

The latest and great version in SAP BW on HANA is BW/4HANA 2.0. BW/4HANA version is most optimized version of BW on HANA with fewer modelling objects like Infoobjects,ADSO and Composite provider really bringing lot of value and performance benefits to customer.

SAP has provided multiple migration paths to migrate from SAP BW on HANA to SAP BW/4HANA version. We read though multiple blogs as below.

Today buzz word is cloud. Each and every Enterprise is trying to move their applications into Cloud. SAP is not behind. There are different datawarehouse strategies from Azure,AWS,GCP. As cloud and cloud analytics will be future Enterprise roadmap , it is interesting to know for clients if SAP brings some solution where by there can be options for customer to migrate Current SAP BW on HANA solution to BW/4HANA or can be migrated to SAP  Datawarehouse cloud directly.

 

If this happens it might bring up huge revolution for SAP BW on HANA customers who can bring lot of benefits with Datawarehouse Cloud capabilities.
