This blog is a part of Master blog Tools to Analyze Fiori Launchpad Issues, where we looked at different tools available to analyze the issues in Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Designer.

In this blog, we will look at the tool to check Orphaned Launchpad Catalogs and Groups.SAP has provided a standard report to list down the Orphaned Catalogs/Groups in customizing scope and the transaction for the same /UI2/FLC1.

Catalog(s) or Group(s) are called orphaned in case:

  • Catalog/group is created in the configuration scope.

  • Tiles referenced by the catalog/group are modified in the customizing scope.

  • Catalog/group is deleted in the configuration scope.

Let’s see how this tool works.

Procedure to Check.

  • Execute Transaction /UI2/FLC1 in the back-end system.

  • Program has no selection screen and in the output it will display the list of all Orphaned Catalog(s) /Group(s).

  • In my system, I can see one orphaned case as shown below. We can see details like catalog ID , Page config ID , Message etc.

  • As report shows orphaned catalogs, lets check if this is the case. Click on catalog ID and it will open the catalog in launchpad Designer in customizing mode. We can see that catalog contents are referenced.

  • Now, open the Launchpad in Configuration scope and look for the catalog. As is shown below , the catalog does not exist in the configuration scope anymore. This makes the catalog an Orphaned Catalog.

What are the Options?

Typically, we get below messages in the report output

Status    : Catalog/group in the customizing scope has a reference to a catalog/group in the configuration scope but the referenced content does not exist.

For these messages we have two options:

  • Repair the Catalog in Launchpad designer and save

  • Delete the customizing for Catalog

Status    : When you tried to delete a catalog/group in the customizing scope, a part of it was not deleted and prevents that a new catalog/group can be created with the same ID.

For these messages:

  • Delete the customizing for Catalog

Delete the customizing for Catalog

Follow the below steps to delete the customizing for the catalog:

  • In the Output of the report select the link in the Page Configuration ID or Property Bags Configuration ID

  • Web Dynpro application WD_ANALYZE_CONFIG_USER is launched.

  • Select the Configuration row and click on delete

Now, we know how to find Orphaned Launchpad Catalogs and Groups and how to mange them.

Keep Learning & Keep Sharing!!
