Yesterday I wrote Analyzing SAP TechEd Las Vegas Sessions and in response, fred.verheul requested a level breakdown of the sessions.  I'll get to that later but I wanted to analyze which products are being discussed in the descriptions of the TechEd sessions.  What are the top products mentioned in the 800+ SAP TechEd sessions?  Find out below.

To do that, I use the Data Services and Data Quality text data processing feature and the base entity transform.

I map over the Description field from the TechEd sessions download, so I can have the Text Data Processing analyze the products mentioned.

I use the PRODUCT entity below:

After running the job in Data Services, it outputs the data to a file, which I then read into SAP BusinessObjects Lumira

Lumira desktop shows that SAP HANA and In-Memory Computing is the top product mentioned in the SAP TechEd descriptions for Las Vegas.  Is anyone surprised?

The above shows a tag cloud of all the products mentioned.

Now on to a breakdown by session level, at Fred's request:

So you can see 50 sessions are at the advanced level with a mix of intermediate and beginner next.

The above is a breakdown of advanced sessions by track.

The above is a cross tab in Lumira showing the advanced sessions by track.

Shown above is the breakdown of intermediate sessions by track.

Finally, I filter to show a breakdown of hands-on intermediate sessions by track.

So hopefully this is what Fred is looking to see.  Will this type of analysis help you build your agenda for TechEd?
