Hello

In APO to change the Key figure value in Planning Book we can use 'BAPI_PBSRVAPS_CHANGEKEYFIGVAL' , I understand as well , FM /SAPAPO/TS_DM_SET can also be used to change the Key figure in the Planning Book.

Please let me know if some one knows the difference between

1. FM /SAPAPO/TS_DM_SET

2. 'BAPI_PBSRVAPS_CHANGEKEYFIGVAL'

and also how to use FM -FM /SAPAPO/TS_DM_SET ?

Your inputs in this regard are much appreciated ..

Thank you - Prasad.

Dear Prasad,

I suggest you to use a BAPI instead of the Function Module, we have worked with two methods with succesful results:

1) PlanningBookAPS.GetDetail

2) PlanningBookAPS.ChangeKeyfigureValue

We used the 1st one in order to get data and perform some validation and know special information for key figures IDs. It was extremely useful for us to work with this, then we were confident to work with the second one, just to perform batch input since our customer is too lazy to update information directly on data-view.

You can get more information about this BAPIs in your own system, just take a glance:

PlanningBookAPS.GetDetail

Read Data from a Planning Book

Functionality

You use this method to read key figure values for a planning book.

For data selection, at least the planning book (PLANNINGBOOK parameter) must be entered and a selection must be made using the SELECTION_ID or SELECTION parameter. You can use the data view (DATA_VIEW), time period selection (PERIOD_TYPE, DATE_FROM and DATE_TO) and a key figure selection (KEY_FIGURE_SELECTION) as additional selection criteria. If the DATA_VIEW parameter is not transferred, the system always uses the first data view for the planning book. The GROUP_BY parameter indicates the grouping to which the data is to be aggregated. If this parameter is empty, the system returns the data aggregated to the selection. The LOGICAL_SYSTEM, BUSINESS_SYSTEM_GROUP, SOURCE_PARTNER and TARGET_PARTNER parameters are relevant for collaborative planning and should only be used in this case.

The TIME_SERIES, TIME_SERIES_ITEM and CHARACTERISTICS_COMBINATION parameters serve as return parameters. The key figure details are found in the TIME_SERIES parameter. These entries, together with the CHAR_COMB_ID field, refer to the characteristics combinations for which they are valid. The characteristics combinations are found in the CHARACTERISTICS_COMBINATION parameter and the key figure values for the individual time periods are in the TIME_SERIES_ITEM parameter.

PlanningBookAPS.ChangeKeyfigureValue

Change Key Figure Values of Planning Book

Functionality

You can use this method to change the values for the indicators defined in the planning book or data view. The functions of this method are closely connected to the GET_DETAIL method. For more information, see the documentation for the GET_DETAIL method.

You use the SELECTION_ID and GROUP_BY parameters to enter a selection and a grouping for this method so that the system can read data from the planning book. The system then combines this data with the data transferred in the TIME_SERIES, TIME_SERIES_ITEM and CHARACTERISTICS_COMBINATION parameters and saves this combined data. Make sure that all characteristics combinations for which data is transferred are addressed in the selection and grouping.

The LOGICAL_SYSTEM, BUSINESS_SYSTEM_GROUP, SOURCE_PARTNER and TARGET_PARTNER parameters are relevant for collaborative planning and should only be used in this case.

You can use the COMMIT_CONTROL import parameter to control whether all data from a call is rejected if an error occurs or whether only the data with errors is rejected and the remaining data is updated (committed).

Best regards,

Carlos Rodríguez
