HI All,

We are having below mentioned systems and client. Is it a good practise to have client specific transport route configuration. Also is there any disadvantage with client specific transport route configuration

DEV - 4 client

QMS - 2 Client

PRD - 1 client

Best Regards

Hello vinodvijayankk,

there's a good discussion about TMS routes (but focusing on CHArM however) here:

Anyway, you can refer to notes #313991 and #556734 and to the following links for more information on this topic:

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/44/b4a09a7acc11d1899e0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm where you can dig into the topic "Choosing a Transport Strategy" for example.

and

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/38/c898be538811d2b412006094b9ea64/frameset.htm

If this information is not enough, please specify what are you trying to achieve exactly.

Dear Tomas,

Thanks for your reply

We are on part of implementation and we have systems DEV(4client), QMS(2Clients), PRD(1 Client).

What we would like to know is wether its a good practise to setup client-specfic route stratergy. So that certain objects when released will automatically reflect in all clients in DEV and when imported to QMS will reflect automatically in 2 clients

Is ther any disadvantage for client specific transports setup?

Hello vinodvijayankk,

first of all, my apologizes in getting back to you.

Definitely a best practice. Especially if you wish to import into other clients of DEV. As with a non client specific transport route you could only export to QAS. With client specific transport routes you can define a client specific transport route(s) back into DEV if you wish to import to other clients within DEV. Also you can limit the client routes if you wish. It does not have to contain all the clients of the system but it can of course if needed. You can limit if required.

I can think of no disadvantage. If there is a client you do not want to be importing to then do not add it to the group.

Hope this helps

Best regards,
