Source list: valid date

Hi 

I have a source list already created with a contract assigned but with validity in the past. The contract also finished. I creat a new contract for the same supplier, plant, material etc. Then i try to update the source list not trough the contract, directly in ME01. When I create the new register, the system display the following message:

"Valid until" date must not be in the past"

Why I have to update the old register to a date in the present, if it is no more valid, and im adding a new register from now on. What is the best practice related to the source list update?

Hello @tomas_martinez18 , You can please go head and adding new contract in existing source, this will give insights or tracking about procurement strategy followed in past.

While adding contract, please make sure validity date maintained correctly.
