SAP IBP Time-series Based Supply planning with Optimizer

Hi SAP IBP Community

I am getting some strange results after running the time-series based planning optimizer. I have a lot of independent demand and projected stock in each bucket, yet the independent demand does not consume the projected stock. Does the optimizer 'choose' hold on to the PROJECTED INVENTORY, because of it might be too expensive to go below the SUBPERIODSOFSUPPLY with the COVERAGE. We do not use safety stock, only the COVERAGE. The optimizer is set to maximize delivery and has a non-delivery cost rate for delivery maximization of 10.000.000. We only use the following cost key figures: inventory holding cost rate, inventory target violation cost rate, subperiodsofsupply, independent demand delivered late cost rate and independent demand delivered late maximum periods

Hi Hendrik,

Do you see any values in the key figure INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY?

And could you please tell me if the optimizer profile has Global Cost Factors' fields set to any value other than 1.0?

Also, if you're using delivery maximization, the key figure cost is ignored. Instead, the optimizer calculates a sufficiently high cost, unless you specify a cost in the field "Non-Delivery Cost Rate for Delivery Maximization" of the optimizer profile > Optimizer Parameters > General.
Could you please check it?

Best regards,
Matheus

Hi Matheus All global cost factors are 1. The only discretization parameters are default Horizon for production: 13 and Horizon for production minimum lot sizes 13.
