For some reason, the optimizer does not calculate any dependent demands and production receipts at all, while the infinite heuristic works just fine.
This is the case:
The header material has independent demand, is subcontracted externally and its SFG's should be produced in-house in a different location.
The optimizer doesn't create dependent demand going to these SFG's while the infinite heuristic does.
* The capacity is available on these in-house Resources
* The RM's are not optimizer relevant so these aren't considered as a constraint to the optimizer
* The transportation lanes and costs are defined
The message I get is this: "can't perform sourcing for missing supply of X,XX in time, because of the planning horizon."
What's going on and who could help me? Please be specific since I'm still new to IBP.
Hi Patrick,
Based on the optimizer message "can't perform sourcing for missing supply of X,XX in time, because of the planning horizon.", it seems like your lead times are too long and the FG won't be available to satisfy the demand on time.
Could you please check what's all the transportation and production lead times involved, and validate if it's really sufficient or not to fulfill your independent demand on time?
As the message suggests, it probably isn't. So either you adjust your lead times, allow late delivery, or move your independent demands to a later date.
Best regards,
Matheus
