REM Heuristics

Hi All,

Is there anyone who has used REM Heuristics (SAP_REM_001 or SAP_REM_002). How can we make system to use Rate/Quantity based capacity definitions? Is it possible to define daily capacity of line resource in terms of quantity of the product, if we do not use Model Mix Planning?

This link only display header information for APO...

But I have not found a way to do this via R/3 CIF.

In APO you can define a resource to be quantity based vs time based.

But you can't create a work center in R/3 that is quantity based.

If anyone knows a way of doing this, let us know.

How can we define in APO if resource is time based or quantity based? Is it defined in capacity profile, how? Have you tried to run planning with quantity based resource? Does system use quantity based capacity while planning?

I used the REM heuristic but for the ipe structure Capacity is utilized 100%, but you can check may it work

1- create the line resource , with takt and capacity varaint with rate model.

2- and then run the REM heuristic.

Dear Ergul,

It is possible to define daily capacity of the line resource in terms of Quantity of product....

You can adopt it by creating the rate routing in R/3 and maintianing the same in the Production versions in the column Rate based planning. and transferring same as ppm in APO for further planning.
