Query on hierarchy...

While delteing the hirarchy entry in Consunit hierarchy two options available..

1. delete hirarchy

2. Delete hirarchy and value.

can any one tell us whats the boths impact.

Delete hierarchy removes from the hierarchy and places into unassigned nodes.

Delete hierarchy and value removes the value from the hierarchy as well as deletes the master data record as well so there is nothing in either the hierarchy or unassigned nodes for once this has been chosen. However, the system will do several checks to determine if the value is in use and if so the delete will not be allowed and an error will be raised.

Hi Dan,

I have changed hierarchy by delete hirarchy and added new new cons group but then after that I checked Accounting techiniques it appearing same consolidation units in different hierarchy.

I am just confused...

I am sorry bbut I do not understand the problem. Please clarify exactly what has occured and what the desired results are and why. Then we will better understand what you are trying to do and provide guidance.

But now If I check Accounting technique

under hierarchy

with respective COI method.

Yep, I saw it too.

Do not recall exactly the remedy. Try this: change the hierarchy in master data, save. Then (it's a must) quit the BCS and sign on again. I remember, that there were several iterations.

Some times Accounting technics assignment remembers the CU hierarchy and not always in sync with the newer version of hierarchy. The task is to sync technics and the CU hierarchies.
