Multiple Packaging Material within a HU?

Hi,

We have a scenario where we produce a Product onto small "display" pallets. Two of these display pallets are then placed onto larger "slave" pallets purely for storage in the Warehouse. When picking for an Outbound Delivery they are picked and dispatched as "display" pallets.

I have tried playing around with the packspec to accommodate this but have been unable to achieve the desired result (if it is possible?).

Has anybody come across a method to make this kind of scenario work?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Ajit,

Thanks for that. It looks like it should work fine for the Outbound side.

What i am now trying to do is improve the GR from Production process (if possible...). Physically we will create a HU for the first display pallet, create another HU for the second and then place onto the slave pallet. In my mind we would create another HU for this, and then nest the display pallets. As this is all done in the same physical area, i was wondering if there is a way of perhaps achieving/automating/simplifying this via the Packspec, or routing via workcenter?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

As per my understanding, I found few options, but not sure which will be fit for your business process ( End User Transaction ).

Option:1

Please try Pack spec structure with POSC

Level-1 -> display pallet- HU creation Check - Enter the actual quantity of Product -External Step( DPAK)

Level-2-> slave pallet - HU creation Check- Enter 2 in quantity -External Step( SPAK)

->2 or 1 Work centers -Single Bin ( same physical area )-Same External Step

->Same as Manual Packing

Option : 2

-> Auto inbound packing with above pack spec with no POSC

Please let us know if you have further queries.

Kind Regards,

Ajit

Thanks for the suggestions Ajit. I will have a play around with those.

Hi Graham,

You only adopt contents ( Sub HU- "display" pallets) from Main HU -Slave Pallets while picking If I am not wrong.

Did you check "HU Picking Control in Storage type/ Warehouse Process type " ? ( I guess- Only adopt contents/Adopt source HU with lower-level HUs)

Please let us know if you have further queries.

Kind Regards,

Ajit
