In my project, Basis is planning a system refresh in which they will be copying all the data from production system to quality system. For this they have asked me to increase the Live cache memory in quality system so that they don't face any issue. I am confused if this can be done by an APO consultant or is purely Basis work. Can someone please help me out on how this can be done if APO does this ?
Hello,
- Check of the liveCache parameter configuration & adjustment has to be done by the liveCache administrator in your team. Sizing estimation need to be done by the APO team & liveCache administrator.
- First, post the additional information:
Are you running the liveCache on MAXDB or liveCache on HANA? What version? What is the version of SCM system & SCM SP?
What liveCache memory parameter was recommended to you to increase?If you are running the liveCache on MAXDB:
* Use the DB Analyzer to find the bottleneck in the liveCache;
SAP note:
1423935 FAQ: SAP MaxDB Database Analyzer
* Review the SAP notes:
1173395 FAQ: SAP MaxDB and liveCache configuration
1128916 FAQ: SAP MaxDB/liveCache heap management
The second note has general information on
database parameter CacheMemorySize or CACHE_SIZE
and the liveCache oms heap parameter, and more. please review those first.- If you will need further help on the liveCache on MAXDB parameters change/settings/configuration => create the SAP message at BC-DB-LVC component.
