HU and Product Warehouse Task for IBD with same doc type/categ

Hi everyone,

I'm packing my Cartons in a Pallet and storing these info in third party software that triggers 311 movement in S/4 that creates IBD which is generated to EWM. 311 movt moves pallets from IM to EWM Stor loc.

Based on pack spec the HU / HU's gets created by itself in the IBD. Till this point it is ok for me.

Another case is, there is no physical Pallet available for the cartons to be packed. In this case as well the trigger go from the third party software to SAP, but only with carton data without pallet. Movt 311 triggers IBD and is distributed to EWM.

However, I don't want HU or HU's to get created automatically in the IBD here, as there is no pallet available physically. I will move only these loose cartons to some different storage types from there on.

Please suggest what options do I have to make this scenario work.

Hi Amit,

EWM has no way of differentiating between the two scenarios because the IBD triggered by 311 is the same in both cases (that is what I read from your problem description).

I suggest you look at creating a delivery type for each scenario ("Packed" vs. "Unpacked"). Once you have that you can use BSSKZ in table /SPE/V_T3211 to trigger one scenario or the other. EWM can differentiate by the delivery type whether automatic packing is relevant or not.

Once that is set up you have to get your 3rd-party software to tell you which scenario it is sending data for and set BSSKZ accordingly for your goods movement (I suppose you are using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE somewhere on the way to trigger 311).

Hint: to test your settings via MIGO you need to set the special movement indicator in the default values of the transaction.

That sounds feasible. I was also trying to explore the 'Logical Condition' functionality in creation of packaging specifications. Where I can provide logic on the custom field from Z-table where the Pallet is not blank only then the pack spec can be applied. T-code is "/SCWM/PSCT5 - Define Logical Conditions for Packaging Specifications "

I will try checking both options and see which fits best.
