How sales order will be created if we don't have capacity.

Customer need a product of 1 pc and sales order has been created on todays date for 1 pc. It needs 1 day to produce 1 pc of the same product from production side.

Against the sales order, production order has been created and operation has been dispatched to work centers. For today the capacity is full. No more production can be done.

Now the same customer need the same product of 2 pc by today itself. But we don't have the resource capacity to produce it today. We have resource capacity tomorrow to produce it.

Now how the new quantity will be handled in sales order. Will system propose the tomorrows date?

Hi, yes for sure. Just set up ATP to check production orders. Additionally consider usage of Backorder Processing

But its not working as expected.

Have created a sales order on 20.09.24 and production order.

Later created a sales order on same day 20.09.24.

But instead of moving this to 23.09.24 system is creating the sales order on same day

Is my expectation correct or wrong?
