Description with capital letters ignored in IBP excel

Came across a really strange issue. Updating the Product Description in master data, but it´s ignored in the planning view.
4 examples and only the first, highlighted doesn´t work. If the first word in the description is all capital letters it´s ignored. But adding X or even a space it´s displayed correctly in the planning view.

This is regardless of excel version, we tried with 2308, 2311 and 2402.
Versions are not active in this PA.

Please be careful with mixed case. You might not see what you expect if you filter by the description with mixed case or you use it update values without other attributes that make it unique. When I filter in IBP data view, I don't get back both spellings. When I display keyfigure, with just the mixed case attribute and no filters, I get two rows with values.

If you are using Excel add-in pre 2408 release (most probably): this is expected behavior, as it allows for only one way of spelling the attribute name/

Good news is that this was fixed with the most recent Excel add-in version: 2408, as detailed here: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_INTEGRATED_BUSINESS_PLANNING/a650f937e78c4a959c19111d51215c09/792d97fd...

Solution : update IBP Excel add-in to 2408 version.

Thanks. We'll look into this. Looks promising.

There is a new check box on attributes for capital letters only.  You only see iit in edit mode.  You might want to check it and change Cpi to force all caps on the field.  I wish I did it on all text attributes.  If you do you also need to change any referenced attributes.  This has been an issue since Ibp was first implemented.

Agree.
From what I´ve seen both values can be visible in the master data view but only one in the planning view. So it can create some serious issues.

Reply from SAP, that this is coming from the 2402 upgrade.
Even if the Product ID is the only key attribute, product description is impacted.
So this won´t work:
Product ID               Description
A123                        LARGE
B123                        large

The description will not display correctly.

Did you get any solution on this from SAP as we are facing same challenge?

No other solution than described above.
Even if the description is not a key. Below won´t work:
Product ID               Description
A123                        LARGE
B123                        large

Hi @christianhjerp,

See Product Description is a root attribute in any of the planning level. If that's the case, it is really worse and you have to look for planning objects that already holds first word with different name and delete them.

Realignment option can also be used in such case.

Best Regards,

We are loading the master data through CI-DS.
Could be a user error in creating a planning object including the description. But we are not able to find any issues in regards to that.
We have raised it as an OSS to SAP as well.
