Can´t add a returnable packaging to an inbound delivery

Hello.

I have the following situation to fit to SAP S4 Hana Cloud Public Edition:

My client uses a returnable packaging. Its received from the supplier when the client buy any product (raw materials, trading goods, etc). But it is not returned to the supplier. Instead of sending it back to the supplier, my client reuses it to send goods to customers. And the customers return the returnable packaging. And those returnable packages returned will be sent to another customers and returned back.

The parts of sending the returnable packaging for the customers and receiving it back from them are ok, totally covered by the Returnables Processing (BDW) scope item.

But I´m not being able to do on the system the part of receiving the returnable packaging from the supplier when the inbound delivery of a purchase order arrives.

When I try to add the returnable packaging as an item of the inbound delivery on the app Change Inbound Deliveries, it does not show the returnable packaging product.

I have also tried to make an HU with it, but its not possible either (error message: RP001 is not a packaging material. Enter a valid packaging material).

Does anyone has an ideia on how to handle it?

Hi @VictorVillarpando ,

in the app Change Inbound Deliveries it is not possible to add a product that is not part of a preceding purchase order. So if you wanted to add the packaging material, it would not to be part of a purchase order, which is probably not what you want.

With 2408 we added a feature for outbound deliveries to generate a packaging item based on the handling units during goods issue posting. You could request a similar feature for inbound deliveries via the Continuous Influence - S/4HANA Cloud Supply Chain.

The assumably best workaround currently would be to use the app Post Goods Movements and do a direct goods movement posting for the packaging materials into the warehouse.

Best regards,
Christian
