[BYD] How to extend the label digit length to be 8 digits or more?

Dear SAP Support

We want to use the labels on our logistics processes together with the scanner device, we want to be able to do stock counts, inbound and outbound tasks using the scanner, but on the GTIN field on the product master, it does not accommodate less that 8 digit number, but the system only generate 4 digit code number for bar code labels. your assistance will be more appreciated to point us on the right direction or providing a solution to us
