What are the month end close procedures in BCS to be taken care to ensure that all ECC data is accurately loaded for the month..
i think the most important part are validations, first upload (mostly data format) and then the actual consolidation logic (accounting logic), this is where most of your time is spent during the close. sometimes you would still go to ECC to get detail behind the balance but you end up making adjustments (audit trails) in BCS as time is running out quickly. using Bex in Excel is the last step to verify the data for the end user consumption. at least this has been my actual accounting close experience. ECC may or may not be the only source of data as Eugene has noted in the thread already.

IMHO, all these month close procedures must be taken in ECC. SEM-BCS just uploads data from ECC (in your case) and consolidates it.
Replace SEM-BCS in your question to BW (or even Excel) and you'll see the obvious.
