Automated posting change with Multiple Plants in EWM

Hello!

Can anyone help me with a summary of what it means to connect multiple plants to one warehouse? The limitations and consequences? We are running embedded EWM for a production unit.

For example, we have identified that staging would not be possible from two different plants, which seems quite reasonable.

Specifically, we are trying to investigate whether you can change the Plant automatically based on movements or using the availability group in a storage type. With other words, trying to achieve a connection between a storage type and a plant or a movement. We are not successful in our attempts so far. The documentation only talks about changing Storage Location in these scenarios. Are your forced to do a manual posting change when it comes to Plant?

Thankful for any help!

I don't think this is available in standard SAP configuration. You can try to change the entity and owner with BAdI - EWM - BADI - Cross Process - WT - Confirmation of WTs - Changing Quant Attributes During WT confirmation. This will allow you to change the owner and party entitle to dispose.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply! However, we don't want to make any coding regarding this.

I have at least managed to combine a posting change with changing storage type/bin using the "POST"-transaction.

Yeah - Posting change is standard process to make this change. I thought you were after the process moving stock and background transfer to different owner / party entitled for dispose. Good to know it is resolved.
