ATP and Order fulfilment

Hi friends, we have the following scenario:

1. The customer places a sales order of 2 items to be delivered together from plant A

2. Only 1 item is in stock in plant A

3 Plant A needs to get the stock via an STO from plant B

4. Plant B also does not have stock and needs to do an STO on plant C

5. C sends to B and after GR, B sends to A

6. When A gets both the items in stock, it 'hard reserves' them for the customer

7. Both items being in A now, the delivery is done

8. We are open to bypassing B if it does not have stock and doing the STO directly from C to A if that is easier in SAP

We do have ATP running which needs to be considered i.e. the schedule lines need to be updated based on the process.

We are on ECC 6 EHP 8.

How can we achieve this plant search and auto STO creation process?

Happy to provide any more details.

Thanks!

Plant A receives an order from their customer. Based on this, plant A creates a sale order and in the backend, via schedule line category, automatic PR can be generated followed by STO PO on Plant B

In Plant B, they have to create a background job for ME2L (to fetch the open POs of plant A) with a variant of Selection parameter we101, Scope of List ALV and with some validity period to restrict the search criteria. Whatever PO displays there, the user has to check for the material and available stock and if stock is available, they need to stock transfer with movement types like 301 or 303 (from SD side it is 641) which client has to take a call which movement they want the users to perform. If stock is not there, then, plant B to raise STO PO to plant C. Here, automation in plant A is possible but in plant B, it will be little tricky and complex as it is not a straight forward process with standard configuration. Lot of validations from ABAP side has to be made.

On your 8th point, definitely, it is not as easy task to achieve. Physically, according to Business convenient, in different ways, the stock can be transferred to Plant A but in order to avoid any inventory issues, it is better to stick with the plan that let Plant A raise STO PO on Plant B always whether the stock is there or not and it is Plant B responsibility to deliver that material either from their plant itself or from plant C. Having said that, GR in plant A should happen only from plant B.

If this approach is not acceptable to your client, then, you can consider enhancements related to ATP

Thank you, Lakshmipathi.

We will avoid the step 8 - and how can we do the previous 7 automatically? What will be the SAP process/steps?

Thanks!
