Why is the S/4 HANA MRP Area customization as follows?
e.g.)
<Master Client (CL100)>
Plant 1000 Storage location 1001,1002,1003
Plant 2000 Storage location 2001,2002
MRP Area Customize (Set only the following storage locations)
-MRP Area 'AAA' :Assign Storage location 1001
After making the above settings, when transferring to CL200,
<CL200>
MRP Area (The settings are as follows when viewed in SPRO)
-MRP Area '1000' :Plant 1000
-MRP Area '2000' :Plant 2000
-MRP Area 'AAA' :Assign Storage location 1001
*Question
Why are MRPArea1000 and 2000 automatically registered at the transfer destination? Is this standard SAP behavior?
Please let me know. Thank you.
Hello @Hoppy
When MRP areas are active, which they are in S/4HANA by default, there is always one plant level MRP area per plant. Its number is the same the corresponding plant number. The plant MRP area is comprised of all the plant's storage locations that are not assigned to store location MRP areas. Therefore in CL100 plant MRP area 1000 contains storage locations 1002,1003 as the storage location 1001 is assigned to the storage location MRP area AAA.
If there is a transfer posting between plants, without specifying any storage location, that will be a transfer between plant MRP areas. If you transfer from plant 1000, storage location 1001, that will be a transfer from MRP area AAA.
Thus the MRP areas that you see in your transfers really depend on storage locations determined in the transfers.
