SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) can be deployed as part of an SAP SCM Server installation or as an add-on to SAP ERP .This will reduce the total cost of operations (TCO) for the customers. This particular add on is available from SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP APO 7.0 on SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0

Advanced Planning and Optimization (SCM-APO)

By using this business function in an add-on deployment to make the following SAP APO objects visible in the SAP ERP system:

  • SAP Easy Access menu for SAP APO on SAP ERP
  • Customizing for SAP APO on SAP ERP
  • Add-on-specific information in system documentation

The business function is only relevant for an add-on deployment. In an SAP SCM server deployment the business function is visible, but not executable.

By this add-on deployment to SAP ERP, the following SAP APO components and functions are available in single hardware.

  • Demand Planning (SCM-APO-FCS)
  • Supply Network Planning (SCM-APO-SNP)
  • Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (SCM-APO-PPS)
  • Global Available-to-Promise (SCM-APO-ATP)

Previously, Advanced Planning and Optimization was only available in SAP SCM Server. As of SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) 7.0 on SAP enhancement package 6/7 for SAP ERP 6.0, Advanced Planning and Optimization is also available as an add-on on SAP ERP.
