User deleted from SRM, deletion of SC not possible

Former Member

Hello Gurus,

We had an user who was deleted from SRM. He had a open SC for which follow on docs were created but GR was not completed in backend R/3.

After the user was deleted the BBP_GET_STATUS_2 job started failing bcoz of the specific shopping cart. So now we have to delete the specific shopping cart.

Steps taken:

1. Monitor shopping cart doesnt show the open SC as the user was deleted so there is no reference for it. So cant delete from here.

2. SC owner change also not possible due to PARTNER_GUID of the user is also deleted.

Possible solutions:

1. Deletion of line items of backend PR,PO line items. But will it make sure that the BBP_GET_STATUS_2 doesnt try to replicate this SC status into SRM again and fail ?

2. Recreation of the user in SRM and try to delete the SC in monitor SC.

Please advise if any specific programs are available for this or if any specific steps can help solve the problem.

Best regards,

Sambit

One way to correct this would be to write a utility to change the business partner on the shopping cart, this would be worthwhile for you if people leave quite often and this is causing errors. We also have some update errors with folks leaving occasionally. We run the BBP_GET_STATUS_2 open though (no shopping cart parameters other than the default and although we have errors on some carts, the others are updated correctly.

may be useful for all

in consulting note 550071

Q8. What happens if I delete the user who has created the shopping cart

A8. If the user is deleted, and the shoping cart exists in the application, then the shooping cart cannot be displayed. If you want to view/ process those shopping carts, then you have to create a dummy user and retrieve the document. In CRMD_PARTNER table, the old user GUID should be replaced with the new user GUID.

Hi. We have had the scenario with users leaving before GR is complete so it is no longer possible to GR in SRM and it must be done in MIGO.

It has never caused any problems with BBP_GET_STATUS_2 though.

When you say it is failing, what doi you mean? Are you getting errors or something, or is it dumping?

Hello Dave,

Thanks for your response. Actually we had issues prior to this but in those cases the user was not deleted from the SRM system. But in this case the user has been deleted from SRM system.

The BBP_GET_STATUS_2 job is getting cancelled and upon debugging we found out that the issue is due of this single shopping cart.We have run the job excluding the shopping cart and it works fine.but it's not a permanent solution.

Now the user has informed us that the invoice has been created for the SC, so now we cant delete it even.

Please suggest how to solve this issue.

Hi. If it is totally a one off you could try the function BBP_PD_SC_UPDATE to see if you can set the deletion indicator from there.

Hello Dave,

The issue now is we cant delete the shopping cart now as the invoice has been created by the vendor.

How can we relate the SC already created to the user ?

1. Will recreating the user in SRM help ? After the SC is completed then we can delete the user.

Suggest if any other options are available.

Best wishes,

Hi. If you re-create the user it will probably not help, as when you integrate the user into the org plan it wil normally assign a new business partner and cental person and so on.

You would try and create the user again, and do not run USERS_GEN, but instead try and assign the old position and business partner to the orh plan manually in PPOMA_BBP by right clicking on the org unit and select "assign", then find the old position.

The right click on the position and select assign and add the old business partner.

I am not sure if this will work, or if it will enable you to delete the old cart.

Have you raised a message with SAP about this? The problem you are having is from a scenario that must happen all the time, BBP_GET_STATUS_2 should not fail in this case, SAP may be able to help you.

Dave.
