Hello
I'm currently writing my thesis as a computer scientist about oci. A question nobody could answer me is: when did the different oci versions come out and which ones are there?
I hope that at least someone here can help me 🙂
Thanks in advance and have a nice day!
Leon
Hi Leon,
currently we are using OCI 4.0 and 5.0. OCI 5.0 is quiet new, it was release about 4-5 years ago. About 15 years ago (with SRM 4.0) SAP already used the OCI 4.0 standard.
The OCI (Open Catalog Interface) was released to communicate between a catalog and an SRM System. The SAP Business-to-Business-Procurement 1.0 was released in the 90s, I suppose this was the release time for the first OCI standard.
Regards,
Anita

Dear Anita,
Since this was the only post I could found regarding OCI;
Is it possible to still use OCI 3.0 in S/4 HANA? Or are only 4.0 and 5.0 supported?
Thanks in advance,
Mischa
