Hi,

Simple solution is just ask it supplier. Supplier will give you access user ID and supported catalog access protocol. If supplier does not support OCI interface, please ask them to implement. I know supplier who supports SAP, Ariba and Oracle catalog interface. They said SAP OCI is simple and easy because it is simple HTML form without XML knowledge.

Hi,

I have been through the OCI documentation and I am pretty sure it should be OCI. However, I am not acquainted with what difference does it have in cXML, since I do not know bout cXML at all.

We want to enable a new punchout catalog for a vendor and they came up with the question which connection we are on to. Is there an easy way to check whether the connection at our end is OCI or XML?

With Kind Regards

Faisal,

As far as I know EBP only supports OCI for punch-out catalogs. In other words, when you select items from the punch-out catalog and transfer them to EBP, they are transferred using OCI. So, from your side you can say you are using OCI.

For an example of an OCI xml message check out the following PDF document (you need to login probably):

[OCI documentation|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/0fa7a090-0201-0010-6697-dc1ab229d383].

The way to find out if you are using OCI or cXML is to check the message itself.

Generally speaking SRM uses only OCI.
