SAP Women in Tech has been on a journey of growth, and we celebrate each step of the way as it leads us to reach our goals. During every step, choice, and development, we have one thing in mind, our vision, a vision that keeps us all motivated and ready to tackle whatever we are faced with.

In case you haven’t yet heard, our team has established a clear and straightforward vision this year, which is: “In 2030, women will look back and be astonished that it wasn't completely natural for women regardless of their specialization, training, or background to choose SAP.” We want to make sure that by 2030, at least 30% of speakers at all SAP events are women, and that we also reach gender parity at SAP.

Not only do we have a new vision, but in order to make our vision a reality, we have created three pillars that structure our team and the work we do. In addition to that, we have also redesigned our Jam page and SharePoint to reflect these pillars.

  • Our first pillar is “Get ready”. This pillar focuses on our growth, reach, and network.  So far, we have been able to build a global, cross-board network connecting more than 4500 SAP women. We additionally have grown our multiplier program and, as of now, are represented in 21 countries. We also provide speaker enablement sessions and In September 2021, we build a speaker search/find functionally within SAP People. Finally, we have grown and are continuing to grow our social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.

  • Our second pillar is “Inspire colleagues”: This pillar is based on putting more women on stage to showcase their expertise and to inspire other women to do the same. We organize different speaker formats to make sure our women are represented in the best way possible. If you have not yet participated in one of these formats, we highly recommend you give it a try, we host Tech Talks, WiT Meets, Unboxing SAP Strategy talks, and sessions from our Young Africans In Tech program.

  • Our third pillar is “Conquer the world”: This pillar is focused on our external presence such as our collaborations with FemaleOneZero, the UN EQUALS program, the Grace Hopper Celebration, the Girls Get Loud campaign, and more! These collaborations help us connect SAP women to an audience outside SAP and provide them with the chance to give interviews, speeches, attend conferences, and much more.

Not only has our strategy evolved, but also our team! Since April 2021 we have grown to a core team of five, Kristina Seefeldt, Xiaoyu Wang, Friederike Heyne, our amazing new working student Julia Campbell, and although I have been part of the team as a working student, I am now also a full-time member of the team. In addition to our core team, we have a phenomenal supporting team, without whom, we would not be as successful as we are. This is why a big thank you goes out to Geraldine Busch, Natalie Dreislampl, Verena Laumayer, and Michela Stichler. We also want to thank Julia White, who has most recently joined Thomas Saueressig as a co-sponsor for the initiative.

We are excited to continue our mission at SAP and would like to thank our community for their constant support and participation.
