A feast for the brain....information overload....putting faces to the voice and mail ids....making new connects and reinventing the old ones. Most important one Motivation... that was what the 3 day SAP TechEd was for me.
As every year this year also the TechEd began with the keynote.Bernd Leukert, Member of the Executive Board, Products & Innovation gave this year's key note. In his keynote Bernad talked about the challenge of digitalization of today's world. HANA Platform on cloud and Fiori was the main star of this year's TechEd. From being an ERP solution used by enterprise, SAP has moved out to the common man. With the HANA Platform as Service available SAP has made app creation simple using the power of HANA. With all these SAP is very well enabled for IoT and may be to the next wave - Internet of Everything.
What about PI/PO my area of Interest? Well, unlike years before nothing major happening on this space. All the innovative thoughts have gone to the cloud integration HCI. SAP has made HCI as much simple as possible. No complicated architecture of ESR ID or SLD. Interface development has become just a configurable within a short time. More and more out of the box content that can readily be deployed integrate with most of the popular cloud solution is available. In a Client CaseStudy, Bentley showcase how they implemented CRM to C2C integration for the benefit of the field force. The whole implementation of around 30 interface took just 3 months and that too according to Bentley it was 1 month delayed!!!
Does that mean HCI is the future and PI/PO is gone? I don't think so. But we will be able to see clients adopting HCI along with PI /PO for a hybrid approach and may be clients like Bentley who never had a middleware going for HCI.
It was real real fun to be part of this year's TechEd. looking forward to TechEd 2016...
