Hi people,
I am certified in ABAP( SAP ceritifed associate development consultant in netweaver 7.02) . I cracked the certification exam in July 2012. Till when is my certification valid ? Is is restricted to release level ?
Thanks.
There is Validity kind of thing. It is valid for you lifetime.
Only thing is that U appeared for Associate Certification. You will get a SAP Certified Associate Logo Badge from the SAP Educational Partner where u completed ur certification.
Further if you want to do a certification on Professional/Master u will get a different Badge..
All the Certifications are Valid for Lifetime.

There are different levels of Certifications
1. Associate - This is the basic knowledge that is required for anyone to work on specific module. This is enough for anyone as it gives most of the knowledge on the module.
2. Professional - This is kind of more advanced, with practical examples, scenarios and business processes. I managed to get only one professional certification which is ABAP.
For CRM EhP1 and EhP2, I just have Associate certifications, I believe which is more than enough to prove your knowledge on that domain.
3. Master - This is kind of super mentor level. like Architects and Solution/Enterprise Architect levels. In my whole 9 years of professional life, I only met one guy who is having this cert. and he is the Solution architect for SAP Banking Services now.
hope this information helps you
Hello Pradip,
Please refer this.

There is no Master Level Certification at the moment. May be planned for future.
Hope this helps.
The cost depends on your country. They are different for each country.
You could find from the above link.
If you are in India, they would be roughly 40K for Associate and 50K for Profiessional Certification.
They are valid for life time.
Once you pass the exam, you will be given with S ID,
with that you can visit SAP Serivice Market all the time.
Hi Ravi,
I got a message from SAP Credential Manager which says,
What does this mean ? Is there a validity date for the certification ?
Regards,
Vinod
Hi Vinod,
You are Certified on certain version of SAP. Nobody can deny that fact. Moreover, there is no expiry date mentioned on the Certificate as such.
You have received your S ID and its password, which can be used for life time. I am still using the same S ID, which I have received 13 years back. That exam was retired already long time back.
Personally, I would not much bother about the SAP Credential Manager. It is only a database to maintain the details. Unfortunately, most of these software trigger workflows based on the rules set, it looks in your case they set in the very last minute.
If you still have questions, please raise the question with SAP Education, who deals with SAP Credential Manager.
Kind Regards,
Ravi
On website SAP-Zertifizierungen | Schulung und Weiterbildung | SAP | SAP is a FAQ
where you can find this info.
They could have said just yes from my point of view, but this would probably scare some potential candidates
My understanding is the Certification gets expired after a certain period and might not be available to appear for the candidates. To this extent the Candidates are notified with emails.
Only candidate will come to know when his Certification is expiring. How will the Third Parties will come to know this expiration?
But, does this mean the Certification already issued by SAP is redundant in any way and S ID issued by SAP for that Certification stop working?
Hi,
Agree with the content shared by .
But that seems to be an ambiguous statement, which does not mention whether the individual certificates(S-ID) are expired or the Certification exam (eg C_TAW70_12) is expired.
Fortunately, till now I am able to login to service market place and Credential manager using the S-ID provided by SAP (and hope it will be continued to be so ).
Regards,
Vinod
nobody can take your experience away, nobody can deny that you did a certification, but you accepted to go into a competition and you have to prepared to be asked why you did not renew your certification.
If a selection process is based on certifications which are valid today then you are probably not selected if your certification expired.
Global payers work that way, e.g. procurement only from ISO 9001 certified vendors.
