Two Seidman College of Business students attended the worldwide Sapphire Now (SAP) and Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) conference May 16-20 in Orlando, Florida.

The conference, which attracts business executives and industry experts, highlighted new technologies shaping business today and included information on SAP HANA, a new in-memory computing platform.

This is the second time Grand Valley students were invited to attend. The students, who are part of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program at Grand

Valley, included olivia.hamilton and emily.satterfield. The ERP program at Grand Valley (simha.magal) is one of the world’s leading programs where students gain an understanding of integrated, cross-functional business process experience using SAP® software.

"Like previous years, we wore T-Shirts that represented SAP's Next Gen Consulting services, which started many conversations. Having the opportunity to work the campuses on the showroom floor presented the opportunity for attendees from all industries and many different countries to ask us what Next Gen Consulting was, and gave opportunities to connect with people from all industries and make Grand Valley and our ever-growing MIS program known across the world," explained Olivia Hamilton.

The $2,500 cost of admission to the conference for students was covered by SAP University Alliance (heather.czech, colleen.raftery,) which connects students around the world who are interested in SAP solutions, careers and research opportunities. Students participated in classroom sessions, app development and networking opportunities
