The Maharishi Institute of Johannesburg, has joined the SAP University Alliances as Associate Member.

The Maharishi Institute was created in 2007 to make tertiary education accessible to all through providing non-educational support to students wishing to access education through accredited educational partners, to showcase South Africa as a leading innovator in education provision, and showcase the world-wide breakthrough of Consciousness-Based Education.

The Maharishi Institute (MI) is a key strategic partner in SAP’ South-Africa's recently-announced Broad-Based-Black-Economic-Empowerment (BBBEE) Trust (read more here).  The beneficiaries of the trust are previously disadvantaged black students.  These beneficiaries will use the dividends received from SAP South Africa to pay for studies facilitated by the Maharishi Institute.

This is a first in South Africa and opens up exciting opportunities for collaboration and for helping to build the future workforce in Africa.  Further collaboration discussion between SAP and MI on a number of fronts are already well-advanced.
