Based on a lot of interest in SAP HANA Cloud Platform, we decided to repeat the introductory course a second time, which initially took place in October 2013.
We had a total of more than 67,000 participants in all three courses, received lots of positive feedback, and even had quite a fan club on Twitter.
The course included some updates which feature simplifications in the developer experience since the course last ran.
Some of these updates include working with SAP HANA and SAP HANA native applications on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, as well as using the connectivity service and SAP HANA Cloud Portal have become easier to work with.
The course was designed to explain SAP HANA Cloud Platform as an open standards-based, in-memory cloud platform designed for today’s increasingly networked, mobile, social and data-driven world. Developers can quickly build impactful, highly scalable applications leveraging the massive speed and scale of SAP HANA.
To give a broad and easy insight we focused on developing software and using an enterprise-ready pre-installed environment in the SAP Cloud to deploy and run applications in a secure and reliable way
Take a look at the key statistics
- The course was held from February 4 through March 25, 2015.
- 9,003 learners were enrolled on day 1 of the course and at half way we had 13.655 users.
- When the course ended this number had increased to 16,288. During the course an additional of 81% participants joined.
- We issued 2,482 graded Records of Achievement, which reflects a success rate of 18,2%
- 120,000 learners watched the videos and attempted the self-tests.
- For this courses around 1,500+ posts were created in the discussion forum.
- 12,9 % of the participants were SAP employees.
- The female to male ratio was 1:6.3
The geographical distribution of the course participants shows the TOP 3 countries are India (39.4 %), Germany (11.6 %), and the United States (11.2 %),
The participants came from 99 countries.
In addition to SAP employees we welcomed quite a lot of users from other companies like HCL (1,018), TATA (492), and IBM (159).
The average age of the learners was 35,5 years. Here we clearly see the very high impact and relevance of this course in the business environment.
