Orlando Florida, USA

December 16-19, 2012

We are a proud Gold Sponsor of the 2012 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2012). The SAP University Alliances Americas team is a gold sponsor for ICIS 2012 in Orlando, FL, USA. Be sure to attend our luncheon meeting Tuesday, December 18, 12:00 pm- 1:30 pm: " A Game Changer: In-Memory Analytics Using the SAP HANA® Platform." We hope to see you in Orlando!

ICIS is the major annual meeting of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), which has over 4,000 members representing universities in over 95 countries worldwide. It is the most prestigious gathering of academics and practitioners in the IS discipline, and provides a forum for networking and sharing of latest ideas and highest caliber scientific work among the IS professions. Each year, over 1,000 IS academic professions from around the world participate in the conference program, which includes about 60 sessions and 180 presentations, in addition to keynotes, CIO panels, and research panels.

The theme of ICIS 2012 is Digital Innovation in the Service Economy and Orlando was chosen to host the conference for good reason. Orlando is known as a conference and vacation destination. Orlando has more hotel rooms than any other U.S. city, after Las Vegas, and it has more than enough attractions and amusements to keep visitors entertained. The booming service sector of Orlando is not an isolated example. It reflects the radical transformation of the world economy from industrial to post-industrial service society, with services constituting 70% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 70-80% of employment in most developed and developing countries. Much of this transition comes from the contribution of IT to service sectors and from IT as service. As such, IS in the service economy becomes a topic of important to the IS community.
