Dr. Olufemi Adetunji of the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in his capacity as ESEFA partner, visited Nigeria to present the ESEFA project to the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan in January, 2014.

He was received warmly by both universities and the presentation was well. Both stated the willingness and eagerness to partner with SAP and the other members towards the realisation of the project.

The meeting at the University of Lagos had 14 people in attendance, consisting of academics and people from the University’s IT support unit (CITS).  Amongst the academics present in the meeting were representatives from Accounting, Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Built Environment.

The meeting at the University of Ibadan also enjoyed a very successful attendance, mostly by the academics of the University. Fourteen people were also in attendance, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.  Many heads of units and departments attended –from the Business School, Industrial Engineering, Curriculum Development, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science and Agricultural Economics

Both universities can be worthy ESEFA partners. The ESEFA project team will now proceed with a selection process.

The ESEFA (Enterprise Systems Education for Africa) project aims to develop curricula and establish an African university community to deliver enterprise systems (ES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) education courses that are accessible both on and offline to African students interested in broadening their ICT skillsets.

The project is co-financed by DEG (Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) with public funds from the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, together with SAP (AG).
