Excitement filled the air as 21 recent and would-be graduates assembled in SAP APJ regional office for the first-ever Sales and Presales Academy Boot Camp in Singapore on 14 Nov 2013.  Dressed in their best, these young talents learnt to work as teams to quickly put together proposals to address business challenges of their “customer”.  More than 75% of the candidates are from our  top UA member universities in Singapore, with some of them having learnt SAP ERP,  SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (BPM) and obtaining SAP TERP10 certification during the course of their studies.

Starting earlier in Talent Scouting Life Cycle

With the initial success, we are now bringing the collaboration with our UA professors to the next level by starting even earlier in the talent-scouting life cycle. With a very tight labour market, top performing students in Singapore are snapped up before they graduate. Our strategy is to inspire the students and promote the SAP career opportunities when they are still taking their SAP courses.

On 14 Nov, we were invited by Singapore Management University to watch students present their ESOA projects. Using SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management, students demonstrated their creativity by developing composite applications that would allow users to access SAP Business Suite via web and enterprise services - a real precursor to what they will do if they join the SAP family! Many of them were excited about the prospects of joining SAP. More of such activities and talks are being arranged with SAP HR in the near future.
