Joerg Koesters, head of Industry Cloud Marketing for Retail, shares his perspective.

The world of retail is constantly changing and evolving. The amount of information available to shoppers today, and the many ways they can receive that information is truly astounding. The rise of omnichannel retail services has given the industry a life of its own, and because of that, we must treat it as we would a living being. We must “Run Live.”

Running Live in retail means being able to predict, anticipate and deliver engaging shopper experiences; live and in the moment. It means you can convert insights into sales, and get the right products to the right customers, at exactly the right time. As the industry continues to bring us new and innovative opportunities, knowing what it means to run live has never been more important than it is right now.

On January 15-17, SAP Retail will showcase what it means to run live through a series of virtual, interactive demonstrations at the National Retail Federation’s “Big Show” in New York City. During our time at NRF, attendees will learn how to leverage SAP technologies available to make their shopping experiences more personal and engaging in the home, the store, and the office.


THE HOME: It’s a Great Day to be Live

In this demonstration, we’ll show you how Under Armour leverages insights to fulfill athletes’ needs in real time right from a person’s bedroom. We’ll also demonstrate how retailer LiveRetailSports creates a live, contextual shopping experience through online grocery shopping. Learn how simple it can be to bring the omnichannel retail shopping experience into the home.


THE STORE: Predict and Engage in the Moment

LiveRetailSports ensures a personalized shopping experience by knowing what their customer wants before they even walk through the door. We’ll demonstrate how LiveRetailSports has transformed stores from purely a selling location to a personalized in-store clienteling experience. Learn to support your consumer’s journey using mobile, IoT, commerce, marketing, and augmented reality to engage shoppers in the moment.


THE OFFICE: The Live Enterprise

You can look forward to a “behind the scenes” exhibition at how fashion retailer Lucia & Daniels engages customers in real time, and a tour of how they run live using the digital boardroom. Discover how retailers can use audience targeting, segmentation, promotion planning, insights and commerce to create personalized offers.
