Keep up with the Pulse of the Energy Transition
Dear Oil, Gas, and Energy Community,
Times marked by change and uncertainty require intensive communication and discussion. The Energy industry is transforming to balance energy security with sustainability and affordability, driven by stakeholder demands for low-to-no carbon systems and improved ESG performance. Throughout the past decade, we have organized our International Industry Conferences in various sites around Europe driven by one philosophy: case studies by customers for customers. The 2023 series takes place in Basel, starting on
April 18th, with dedicated workshops and a vibrant conference across
April 19th and 20th. The Utilities event will take place in parallel for the first time since 2019 – allowing attendees to benefit from a wider pool of use cases and expert insights, with an expected attendance of 700 attendees.
We have adapted the content to the most pressing and controversial challenges, including Energy Transition, Sustainability and Digitization. Numerous offerings encompassing keynotes from thought leaders, roundtables, panels, presentations, and hands-on demos provide a platform to learn, discuss, and interact with industry peers.
In this blog post, we will update you on the latest program.

Conference Days April 19th – 20th:
The conference kicks off on
April 19th. After SAP's welcome note, you will instantly jump into a thought-provoking keynote from
Janne Müller-Wieland, a German Olympian, about organization, leadership, and motivation, which leads to our panel discussion with leaders from across Oil, Gas, Energy, Utility, and SAP on today's most significant challenges: Energy Leaders of Tomorrow to Master Energy Transition.
After this joint-kick-off, we start with the program's dedicated Oil, Gas, and Energy portion, in which SAP's industry leaders share insights on the latest strategy, alliances, and projects. SHELL's Head of Energy Transition will present the role of digitalization in reducing their operational footprint, offering low-carbon energy solutions, and designing the future energy system.
On the first day, April 19th, the attendees can choose between six tracks, some solely dedicated to a specific industry and others such as sustainability or asset management, presented in a cross-industry format.
Business Women's Network Lunch: Take advantage of this unique opportunity to grab lunch and discuss aspirations, challenges, and ideas with some of the most influential professional women in the Energy and Utilities Industries. Open to all attendees.
Offsite Evening Event: Following our initiative that
networks need to be fostered, we will close the day with an offsite evening event in Basel's Kraftwerk. This former power plant offers a breathtaking backdrop. Running until late, attendees can expect a fun night with drinks, a delicious buffet, and an in-house DJ. Continue networking, find a quiet space to relax or stretch your legs on the dancefloor.
We kick off day two with
Emily Penn, Ocean Advocate, and Skipper, with her presentation on "shifting to zero", a pledge for a sustainable future. This inspiring talk precedes a leadership panel titled
"Empower Energy Transition for a Sustainable Future".
The day will continue with five tracks and roundtables featuring topics such as e-mobility, Industry Cloud, and S/4 conversion, and a final keynote in which we will focus on our next-generation solutions.
